Role Summary
Electrical supervisor main duty is to provide technical (especially electrical) expertise during installation and finishing phase to prepare Wind Turbine and Wind Farm for commissioning.
Electrical supervisor can be involved in resolving quality deviations to ensure smooth handover and smooth operation over Wind turbines lifetime.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Support the Quality Manager on technical non - conformity's to ensure compliance with requirements for reporting, developing solutions and implementation
- Support Site Manager on incoming goods inspection
- Assist on foundation and component electrical continuity checks
- Support the SM and QM with collating and checking for completeness before realising the commissioning documentation, statutory inspections and reports
- Collate the necessary information for reporting and managing Non-conformity reports and incidents
- Take part in tracking missing parts and requisition notes
- Submit the GCV request for Wind turbines
- Lead with provided documentation for first energising and final inspections
- Support in general terms on all electrical matters
- Assume the Nominated electrical person role
- Provide ad-hoc training to the site team and subcontractors
Qualifications/Requirements/Skills:
- Completed vocational training in Mechanics /Mechatronics or similar field
- Proficiency with Health and Safety procedures/ methods such as LOTO (lock out tag out), electrical safety, fall protection awareness, basic understanding of hazardous materials (MSDN)
- Familiarity with several technologies such as Mechanical & rotating systems, basic understanding of hydraulic systems
- Familiarity with general procedures such as Mechanical installation and finishing, testing of mechanical installations, quality management
- Familiarity with several tools such as Mechanical measuring tools (e.g. digital caliper), Hydraulic torquing/ tension tools (e.g. HyTorc, ITH)
- Proficient computer skills utilising MS Office basic programs (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Good communication skills in English language (spoken and written)
- Physical requirements include the ability to climb a WT 180 meters high or taller, under variable climate conditions without adverse effects
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and engineers
- Able to work in or lead a team
- Systematic problem-solving and safety orientated behaviour
- Strong personal planning & organisation skills
- The position has a high travel requirement, domestically and/or internationally
- Capability to comprehend and adapt to rapidly changing technologies
- Must have 2 years of experience in working with Wind Turbines
- Experienced in working with crane operations (rigging and lifting)
- Experience with low, medium and high voltage component systems
- Has to be qualified as an Electrically skilled person
- GWO Training standards has to be obtained including all 4 modules (First Aid, Fire Awareness, Manual Handling, working at heights)
- Valid medical evaluations
