The client is looking for a talented individual to join their Renewable team as the Senior Wind Development Manager for Germany. The Renewable team is responsible for wind and solar business development of the group in Europe. The renewables business is a key pillar of thier strategy, the team aims to deliver more than 1 GW of wind and solar projects per annum by 2025.
The Engineering & Technology -department within the Renewables unit is responsible for the engineering of all solar and wind projects and acts as the technical center of excellence for project development, procurement, construction, operations, and asset management.
With regard to thier rapidly growing business we are currently looking for an experienced individual (f/m/d) to join our Project Development team and take on a position that demands great responsibilities and influences growth - both yours and the company´s.
The primary location of the role will be in Düsseldorf (Germany) but working remotely is standard practice in the group.

What we are looking for
  • Develop utility scale onshore wind projects across Germany
  • Establish strategic co-development partnerships to accelerate pipeline growth
  • Supporting role in M&A processes (e.g. assessing pipeline quality)
  • Cover the full development cycle from origination to RTB or FC stage
  • Manage external contract developers
  • Monitoring and interpreting technical and relevant regulatory developments and standards and to be able to deliver technical and non-technical reports to stakeholders.
  • Manage business relationships with landowners, permitting authorities, grid operators, regulators, off-takers, local communities and other relevant stakeholders
  • Liaise closely with existing Uniper business teams (asset teams, trading / PPAs, finance, others) and enabling functions
  • Build strong relationships with the development team, consisting of developers, engineers, project-, contract- and offtake managers as well as a network of external development partners
  • Part of a high-performance team and contribution to the establishment of an entrepreneurial, rewarding and fun work environment
  • Be an active member in the growth of the renewables team locally and across the EU
  • Reports to the Vice President Wind Development Germany & Benelux

Who we are seeking
  • Essential
    • Degree in renewable energy, environmental management, planning, engineering or comparable studies
    • Extensive professional experience with delivering wind farm developments from origination to RTB or FC stage
    • Utilising an extensive network of industry and developer contacts to forge development partnerships and joint ventures
    • Profound understanding of relevant market dynamics and trends.
    • Deep understanding of the commercial and technical properties of renewable energy systems
    • Experience in undertaking detailed due diligence of projects from a technology and commercial perspective
    • Understand the commercial requirements for onshore wind projects
    • Demonstrable knowledge of the risks, issues, constraints, policies and regulations relevant for onshore wind developments in Germany and ability to apply it to enable targeted site selection
    • Understanding financial models
    • Understanding project management
    • Excellent communication skills in an international environment and the ability to influence effectively at all levels
    • Excellent negotiation skills
    • Business fluency in German and English
    • Willingness to travel
  • Desirable
    • Experience in other renewable technologies such as PV, hydrogen, BESS or hydro would be highly desirable
    • Understand and be able to use wind farm design software
    • Member of a renewable or electrical energy industry trade body
    • Able to converse in another European language
