Contract: Cost Analyst / Atyrau

Location: Atyrau 5/2
 

• Applicant must have minimum of 5 years Cost analyst/engineer background
• Minimum of 3 years reporting experience and a broad understanding of project controls with no less than 5 years of experience in the oil and gas industry
• Preferable has an Engineering or technical degree or equivalent
• Candidate ideally has experience in the development of management review packages, updating reporting deliverables and coordinating input from multi-disciplinary groups throughout the project
• Must have knowledge of project execution and prior experience with similar major capital projects is beneficial
• Candidates must have a solid background and understanding of Microsoft Office programs, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Outlook.

ROLE

Under the supervision/guidance of the Lead Cost Engineer / Project Controls Manager the Cost Reporting Analyst will assist in the implementation, administration and maintenance of the cost control system and procedures to track project budgets, commitments, expenditures and forecasts.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Cost Reporting Analyst will provide cost and work management assistance in terms of commitments, expenditures and verification of invoices and forecasting against annual budgets. This will take the form of a detailed cost report. The CA will provide a full package of cost engineering, work management, analysis and cost control guidance to the project teams. 

Provide support to the team and Reporting Lead in the preparation, maintenance and compilation of weekly and monthly reporting requirements.  In addition, assist in the gathering and coordination of information from all department groups of the project and work with the Cost and Planning engineers to develop supporting details and status to management.  Ensure accurate and consistent reporting to allow project management to understand project performance and key messages.

Engages Delivery Team Leads in the review and update cost forecasts and in the review of commitments against budgets and forecasts for assigned contracts within their area.  Compiles and analyzes data for monthly VOWD submissions to Finance and upload necessary backup details to SharePoint.  Updates and maintains cost management system (KCM) with budget, commitment, forecast, and expenditure data.  Generates monthly cost reports and reviews with the Area Cost Engineer in preparation for rolling out an overall cost report to the Delivery Team.  Helps to ensure compliance with company cost and finance procedures and requirements.  Checking payment applications/certificates and invoices.  Prepare and deliver ad hoc reports as and when requested by the Lead Cost Engineer.

 

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES / INTERFACES

Under the supervision/guidance of the Lead Cost Engineer, the Cost Reporting Analyst will build relationships and interface with the following functional areas within company:

• Interface with Contracts and Procurement
• Interface with Field facilities Reporting Lead to provide support for Capital Projects reporting
• Perform the monthly updating and management of routine reporting (weekly / monthly) and other ad hoc deliverables as required by management
• Preparation of weekly dashboard reports and monitoring changes in details and data
• Ensure reporting data and information is consistent and free of errors
• Consolidate reporting information for review and messaging delivery is reliable
• Assist in the compilation of ad hoc presentations such as town halls, partner reviews, etc
• Access to contracts and PO’s, including scope of work and commercial model
• Payment verification
