The Wind Quality Manager Role is to ensure that the project activities comply with all quality standards and legislation requirements. The Wind Quality Manager is responsible of recollecting and tracking important quality data and information but not necessarily to upload it. The Wind Quality Manager can intervene, stop and even prohibit the ongoing Wind Farm construction if he detects an immediate danger at Wind Farm, also, address any Wind (sub)contracted worker from continuing to work in case of inadequate handling of Wind Turbines components or anticipated damages of the same. The Wind Quality Manager is also allowed to issue a written warning and refuse the persons access to the Wind Farm for one day in case of negligently disregarding Wind HSE regulations or deliberate mishandling of Wind Farm, in coordination with the Wind Site Manager. If the Wind Quality Manager is leading a team, then he has full responsibility of the management of the team. The Wind Quality Manager should also act as "internal representee" to support services in the organisation.

Wind Quality Manager Key Roles and Responsibilities

It is the Wind Quality Manager's responsibility and obligation to adhere to all HSE standards, protocols and best practices. A Wind Quality Manager shall exhibit an upstanding culture of safety and safe work for their own person and all adjacent parties

It is expected that Wind Quality Managers conduct themselves in a professional manner, observing common laws but also local laws provided in the site induction. Moreover, it is expected to be sensitive to the cultural expectation of the community

Notify and take immediate measures in front of the detection of any risk issue or problem

The Wind Quality Manager has to ensure that everything in relation to the project complies with general Wind HSE regulations and local statutory Wind HSE in the respective country.

The Wind Quality Manager is also responsible for the safety of the project team and all subcontractors on Wind Farm as well as other stakeholders affected by his work.

Safety walks shall be performed per set targets. All hazards, near miss events, accidents and incidents shall be reported immediately but within 24 hours

The Wind Quality Manager has to ensure quality all through the execution process always with the focus of a smooth handover of the Wind Turbines/Wind Farm to the customer

The Wind Quality process has to be followed at all time (including the submission of information as necessary by issuing a NCR)

The Wind Quality Manager must ensure that the quality of data sent to systems is accurate and complete.

The Wind Quality Manager has to support internal Wind Farm Spot Checks and audits requested by Auditing department for Wind suppliers on the Wind Farm (planned or unplanned)

The Wind Quality Manager shall ensure that respective Quality Target set out by Wind Project Manager is reached in Wind Park installation

The Wind Quality Manager has to maintain quality related tools and processes such as the Punch list and Material Requests/Received in Up vise, Golden Turbine, incident creation and follow-up in Service Now, etc. Moreover, in case of NCR he could offer support in corrective actions when needed

Ensure compliance with all quality standards and legislation

Effective implementation, monitoring and compliance of Wind Project Quality Plan

Effective resolution of quality issues through problem solving and making suggestions on improving current practice

Establish an agreed interpretation of Wind project requirements as defined in Wind specifications, Wind codes and standards

Coordinate and carry out inspections as required

Provide technical (quality) support to the Wind construction teams

Ensure that all new staff is inducted about quality requirements related to their own roles and responsibilities

Promote quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the project

The Wind Quality Manager should then manage and run the PQP

The Wind Quality Manager should be the point of contact of clients and represent the company in topics of his expertise, establishing a relationship management with clients, which then include trouble shooting, on the Wind Farm, etc.

Lead the process of Quality Incoming Goods and reception of relevant remaining parts

Comply with and ensure that all managed personnel and subcontractors meet the terms with the quality standards (e.g. by using of the right installation manual, right tools, having the necessary certifications, etc.)

Follow up and coordinate the Service Now incidents, managing personnel during the repair processes and ensuring the quality of the works. Track agreed actions and their closure

Coordinate execution of quality audits during Wind Farm assembly process

Follow up of Quality, tracking and working together with contractors and supervisors to find solutions and improvements to solve punches. Coordination of solving open points (including claim preparation, ordering of parts, leading site fixing teams if applicable, etc.) Support the Wind Site Supervisor

Qualifications Required:

Proficient software skills utilising

Wind farm and turbine control software and apps (e.g. NC2, UPVISE, etc.)

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and customers

Systematic problem solving and safety orientated behaviour. Timely and effective management of quality issues

The position requires a high willingness and flexibility to travel

Willingness to continuously expand one's knowledge (especially regarding technology developments)

Leadership skills and ability to create and lead a strong and successful team

2. Experience

Minimum 5 years of experience as Wind Project Quality Manager or alike in operative project execution and construction management for complex technical projects either in civil construction, manufacturing and plant engineering industry, the wind energy sector and/or similar industries/energy sectors; experience with turnkey projects preferable. To become a Junior Wind Quality Manager from inside the company, it is suggested at least 2 years of experience working under a Wind Quality Lead

Experience with developing Wind Quality Management Systems

Experience working in Wind Quality Control roles or quality related fields

Valued but not required: training in Six Sigma, FMEA, or any other standard of good quality practices

Basic HSE training and experience

Technical background with a bachelor's and/or Master's degree in engineering

3. Required certificates and training

Valued but not required: GWO Training Standard

Valid medical evaluations required by Country (Drive & control ability, Working at heights ability, Noise medical checkup) - required in Poland
