Contract: Field Buyer / Louisiana

POSITION PURPOSE:

Field Buyer is responsible for the procurement of materials and supplies in support of the Geismar Expansion. This is a contract position based in the field office in Geismar, Louisiana.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Provide Field Procurement Support:

• Ensure all commercial dealings with vendors meet the client’s ethical standards
  • Protect the client’s commercial reputation in the community and corporately
  • Maintain ethical Vendor and Contractor Relationships
  • Provide assurance all commercial dealings meet the client’s financial and audit requirements
• Responds to requests for procurement services
  • Anticipate and develop framework agreements as required to streamline procurement processes
  • Generate reports to support project management reporting requirements
  • Coordinate with Contracts to ensure field buying is in concert with contract terms
• Facilitate requisition process for construction, obtain price quotations
  • Support Area Managers with field requisitions
  • Obtain Area Managers approval
  • Issue PO
• Assist Accounts Payable to mitigate invoice disputes

SPECIFIC SKILLS

• Knowledge and experience in development and administration of purchasing documents

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Education Required: business degree or equivalent job-related experience preferred

Experience Required:  5 - 10 years field procurement work experience preferably in a construction environment.
