We are working with a leading Australian Iron Ore Producer in their search for an Electrical Project Engineer, Decarbonisation - Site Infrastructure to work from their Perth based office on a Monday to Friday based roster with travel to site as required.
Committed to a leading edge Decarbonisation strategy to achieve net-zero emissions, there is a need to provide permanent power and supporting infrastructure to enable electrification of key mining equipment across their operations. The Electrical Project Engineer will join our Client's Asset Management and Utilities, Operational Projects team to support their Decarbonisation journey and lead a range of infrastructure work packages.

The Electrical Project Engineer will join our Client's Asset Management and Utilities, Operational Projects team to support their Decarbonisation journey and lead a range of infrastructure work packages.
Key accountabilities include:
- Support the delivery of key work packages, including:
- Site distribution power infrastructure (powerlines, switchgear, transformers)
- Heavy Mobile Equipment battery charging & plug-in infrastructure
- Light and specialist mobile equipment battery charging infrastructure
- Electrification of existing fixed infrastructure assets
- Technical assurance and review of preliminary engineering, detailed engineering and construction packages.
- Management of internal and external stakeholders, including Operational Projects personnel and contractors, consultants.
- Drive schedule improvements to reduce delivery time frames safely.
- Deliver cost and capital effective solutions to improve the project’s capital intensity whilst delivering the projects scope on time and within budget safely.
- Provide effective and strategic reporting and communications of project performance on a regular basis.
- Interpret and implement Engineering design discipline and specifications.
To be considered, you will need to meet the following:
- Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience supporting large, complex and multi discipline projects. Solid technical base with demonstrated experience within power distribution networks, 415V systems, intelligent electrical equipment (VSD’s, motor protection relays), process control, PLC’s and industrial automation systems.
- Demonstrated experience in the mining industry across non-process infrastructure and/or HME assets would be well regarded.
- Demonstrated experience managing external design consultants
- Ability to successfully engage internal and external stakeholders at all levels
- Proactive and self-motivated, with a drive for excellence
- Results driven, responsible and accountable
- Ability to manage under pressure and adapt quickly to change
- Great problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Have full Australian Working Rights.
- Be Perth, WA based.
