We have an exciting opportunity available for an Rotating Equipment Inspector for a 12 month contract with potential to extend to 24 months for the right person. This role will be based in Darwin and will be starting in March 2023. 

Work Scope:
  • Responsible for the development of maintenance, inspection, and repair strategies for onshore rotating equipment portfolio. Identify and produce deliverables required to assure these activities.
  • Provide inspection services to the operation’s engineering, maintenance, and shutdown team for rotating equipment.
  • Act as the execution focal point for all RE equipment and auxiliaries’ inspection and repair activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct all activities in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures. Ensuring the welfare of personnel and the protection of assets and the environment at all times.
  • Apply HSE systems and processes (ie Incident Hazard reporting, JHA, ASA, BBS, etc).
  • Actively participate in HSE meetings, audits and initiatives as required.
  • Understands all relevant HSE protocols and procedures.
  • Comply with all requirements of the Fitness for Work Policy
Planning:
  • Provide day-to-day and long term RE inspection support to onshore.
  • Ensure RE inspection activities are appropriately resourced within the work management system planning cycle.
  • Participate in the advanced planning of rotating equipment maintenance activities and ensure the required scope of works are delivered to ensure the continued safe and efficient operations of these assets.
  • Participate in all RE equipment scheduled overhauls in line with the asset shutdown philosophy.
Compliance:
  • Ensure the reliability of RE portfolio will meet annual delivery plan commitments by ensuring:
  • The right preventive maintenance tasks are being completed
  • quality of work being executed by internal and external parties is done consistently to the required standard
  • Inspection data is being collected, recorded, and analyzed.
  • The management of change process is followed
  • Ensure completeness of all WMS history to ensure correct quality capture.
  • Participate in the investigation of failures and trips of RE portfolio
  • Improvements to plant and processes are identified and implemented
  • Ensure that the plant technical integrity is protected by participating in the inspection of rotating equipment in line with the commitments made as part of the safety case performance standards and design assumptions.
  • Manage own development
  • Identify individual training opportunities for personal development plan which may be of benefit to individual and are flexible to the organisational requirements (PMP).
  • Timely execution of agreed training and development plans.
  • Proactive in participation of the PMP process for timely development and deliverable content
  • Manage own performance
  • Achieve goals set and in line with the expectations of the Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer.
  • Deliver measurable results of goals and targets set within PMP framework
Risk Management:
  • Ensure familiarity with key risks associated with the onshore plant
  • Assess risk for all activities undertaken. (Stepback 5X5, JHA)
Technical Experience:
Extensive experience working on large rotating equipment and supporting systems including;
  • GE Frame Gas Turbines, Centrifugal Compressors, Steam Turbines, Compressor seal systems, Diesel Engines, Fire Pumps and Condition and Performing Monitoring Systems.
  • Have expert understanding of inspection activities and predictive maintenance techniques.
  • Extensive knowledge of CMMS systems and integrity assurance
Quality:
  • Ensure maintenance and integrity standards are achieved
  • Inspect and report on condition of rotating equipment to the required standard
  • Reliability analysis

Technical Systems:
  • SAP PM, SAP MM, ISSoW, Turbo Machinery Monitoring Systems (GE System 1), Condition Monitoring Systems RM
