In 2022 The Company took over as operator of the project's gas field, which fuels 20% of Luzon’s power
generation, and has continued the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the project's asset. The Company also
has ambitious growth plans to further explore and develop the Philippines’ hydrocarbon resources.
The Company is the most active explorer in the Philippines and are in the advanced stage of planning to drill two deepwater
Exploration wells (USD 100M) and acquire/reprocess state-of-the-art seismic data (USD 15M) within the next two
years.
Purpose of this role is to:
- Develop and implement a Subsurface Technical Data Management Strategy for The Company.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of Subsurface, and Wells data management services and solutions.
Main Responsibilities of this role:
Accountable for Technical Data and Geo-Information Management to ensure the integrity, quality & accessibility of technical data in The Company.
Responsible for:
- Developing, implementing & maintaining The Company’s Subsurface Technical Data Management Plan (including risk assessment, adherence to local regulatory data management requirements,roadmap for data quality improvement, tracking of data quality metrics, change management due to deployment of innovative digital technologies, estimate of required resources & budget)
- Defining technical data management specifications, procedures information and quality requirements such as completeness, accuracy, timeliness, consistency and integrity, for seismic, drilling, pressure, open hole and cased hole log, site survey data and static & dynamic subsurface model management
- Management of integrated in-house & consultant team technical data management effectiveness
- Assigning data governance roles, providing assurance & coordinating health checks with data owners and ensuring follow-up
- Ensuring the control of subsurface technical data and documents
- Managing incoming and outgoing data, staff on and off boarding, archiving procedures, etc.
As part of the team/larger community:
- Liaison with Project Asset Technical Data Management Focal Point within IT to ensure all updates of subsurface technical information are cascaded consistently to all Asset Management systems (corporate datastores)
- Manage contractor relationships and behaviours in line with The Company's values
Dimensions:
- Number of Staff: Member of an integrated team of 10-15 technical staff.
- Financial accountability: Indirect OPEX multi-million US$ due to impact on drilling operations, seismic operations and field development projects and other critical data used in the business.
- External Relationships: JV Partners, Regulator
Requirements:
Prior Technical Experience (10+ years)
- In-depth understanding of upstream business workflows and comprehensive knowledge in subsurface and wells, geo-information data, documents and record types as well as workflows.
- Expertise in information flow, including how the data, document and record enters the operations workspace, is synchronized between the various Subsurface & Wells applications and stored / used in the workflows, and how the information is published back to the corporate data stores.
- Knowledge and application of industry global standards, workflow processes, and procedure for Technical Data Management throughout the lifecycle of an asset/project
- Geodetic and GIS working experiences, preferably conversant with all spatial and geo-reference data and associated geodetic parameters corporate & GIS Project databases such as those for wells, seismic, fields, pipelines, concessions, subsurface geology and infrastructure
- Using data visualization and analytics tools such as PowerBI, Spotfire, Alteryx, SQL language, etc to leverage insights from data
Good leadership skills
- Customer focus, deep understanding of users' ways of working and the business
- Experience working effectively in multidisciplinary teams and a strong team player
- Change management - embedding and influencing the business to improve processes and workflows
- Ability to influence without direct accountability for staff or activities
- Ability to coach/mentor technical staff in Subsurface Technical Data Management processes
Commercial Skills
- Specifying contract technical data management requirements to service providers to ensure theservice providers understand what, when and how the information needs to be delivered.
