Position: Piping Lead
Location: Qatar, office based in Doha
Schedule: 6 days per week
Job Purpose: We are seeking an experienced Piping Lead responsible for overseeing piping and layout engineering activities for a high-profile project. This role ensures all piping and layout tasks comply with project specifications and are delivered on time through effective collaboration and management of the engineering contractor and stakeholders.
Key Accountabilities:
- Ensure complete delivery of Piping & Layout engineering deliverables during EPC execution by the Contractor.
- Achieve project quality requirements and contractual obligations.
- Review and appraise all technical documents related to piping & layout to ensure compliance with project scopes and identify potential risks.
- Manage Contractor's Piping and Layout discipline resources to ensure timely work completion.
- Conduct and oversee model reviews during design development.
- Monitor and report actual progress, including SP3D model development, ensuring key milestones are met.
- Provide technical support and coordinate multi-discipline input on piping & layout deliverables.
- Participate in project workshops such as HAZOP and HAZID reviews.
- Assist with expectations for Risk Assessment, Facility Design, Construction, and Management of Change.
- Track and report lessons learned within the defined area of responsibility.
- Operate in a high-pressure project environment with significant capital expenditures and strict schedule execution demands.
- Adhere to and develop business controls to meet changing needs.
Candidate Specification:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Extensive experience in piping & layout discipline, with proven work as lead discipline experience in major capital projects and offshore fixed platform projects.
- Offshore brownfield project experience with at least two executed brownfield projects.
- Understanding of platform layout development and equipment/material handling requirements.
- Experience with EPC contractors, subcontractors, and vendors in the oil and gas industry.
- Ability to work with people from various cultural backgrounds.
- Knowledgeable in relevant Codes & Standards.

- Monitor progress to meet project schedule and milestones.
