Responsibilities:

Supervise and provide work direction to the contract supervisor who has the primary responsibility for contract worker safety
Identify and confirm daily work permits are received
Interpret P6 schedules and direct Contract Supervisors to meet Capital Project objectives
Work closely with the task leader, project Coordinator, and all planners associated with the work
Conduct daily toolbox safety meeting and Task specific JSA Discussions
Understand the mechanical work plan and schedule and work with the contract supervision to ensure that work is performed per the plan and that resources are in place and productive to achieve the objectives of the plan and schedule
Assist Contractor Supervision with verification of needed rental tools, Equipment and Job Material
Confirm the status of work with contract supervision to ensure accurate reporting of updates to the plan and schedule. Communicate closely with process personnel and mechanical planning resources as to equipment status
Document changes to the plan and obtain proper approvals prior to executing the changes in the field. Make sure Contractors do not perform work outside of approved work scope without approved Field change orders
Facilitate execution by providing Knowledge, interface connections, guidance on material procurement and other expertise.

Requirements:

10+ years of construction leadership refinery/plant operations
Experience in capital construction and commissioning
Demonstrated leadership skills are essential and prior supervisory experience is preferred. Must be able to work in a team environment and lead a diverse workforce.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Able to adapt to changing work priorities
Demonstrated ability to set high standards for safe performance
Demonstrated commitment to safety, strong troubleshooting, and decision-making skills (problem analysis and conflict management skills)
Ability to understand, control and drive optimization of maintenance expenses
Key competencies for this position include initiative, innovation, interpersonal skills, concern for effectiveness, a drive for continuous improvement and flexibility
The individual should be proficient in using personal computers including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases
