The client is currently seeking a Mechanical Services Manager (GTG) to work on 28/28 on site in Algeria. Missions and meetings in Algiers/London may also be required.
Responsible for project Mechanical Maintenance works, the Mechanical Services Manager, GTG will guide and supervise all Mechanical maintenance activities on behalf of the Company, in accordance with safety rules and guidelines. They will mentor to develop the mechanical team of 12 (Mechanical Engineers, Foremen and Technicians) regarding mechanical competence and broader relationship management skills and manage a cooperative relationship with their Sonatrach counterpart. Mechanical Services Manager, GTG will also ensure appropriate management of shutdown activities as required.

Required background:
Responsible for project Mechanical Maintenance works, the Mechanical Services Manager, GTG will guide and supervise all Mechanical maintenance activities on behalf of the Company, in accordance with safety rules and guidelines. They will mentor to develop the mechanical team of 12 (Mechanical Engineers, Foremen and Technicians) regarding mechanical competence and broader relationship management skills and manage a cooperative relationship with their Sonatrach counterpart. Mechanical Services Manager, GTG will also ensure appropriate management of shutdown activities as required.
Main duties:
- Monitor the performance of all GTG mechanical systems
- Propose and carry out modifications to the facilities if necessary
- Ensure all GTG mechanical equipment (rotating and static) is operated and maintained within the relevant design envelopes, with planned maintenance activities are scheduled to minimize disruption to operations
- Ensure all work executed by mechanical team is technically aligned and in compliance with GTG Operations, Policies, Standards of Business Conduct. This includes responsibility for flange management tasks (dismantling and reassembling blind flanges >2”) and all thermal insulation materials
- Ensure that Maintenance objectives/KPIs in mechanical domain are achieved in an appropriate and timely manner
- Participate in management of change (MoC) process, ensuring that all modifications are appropriately risk assessed and comply with MoC procedures
- Collaborate to create and update internal tools in order to leverage standardization and robust design
- Participate in the implementation of progress plans (security, availability, cost control, etc.)
- Ensure appropriate reporting on all activities carried out
- Discuss and resolve daily site problems with site supervisors
- Participate in CMMS development activities
- Review and develop critical spares and minimum stock holding within CMMS to minimize asset downtime
- Assist in the timely procurement of permanent and non-permanent materials required for the proper completion of all work
- Coordinate with Supply Chain team to prepare tender files for works or assistance as required
- Take part in plant and risk management reviews
- Manage the budget allocated to the structure
- Ensure appropriate performance management and development of the mechanical team members
- Manage, coach, equip the team, monitor performance and propose necessary improvements.
Required background:
- University Degree in Engineering (Bac+5) – Relevant discipline (Mechanical Engineering)
- Significant experience in maintenance Mechanic Rotating equipment/technology including experience in a supervisory position
- Strong career history working on similar operated producing projects
- Previous rotational and working environment experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team of technical staff, to work with the Executive Management of an organization, and to manage multiple concurrent projects
- Fluency in English and either (conversational) French or Arabic is required
