The Global Oil and Gas Client in Perth CBD are currently seeking a Management Accountant to join them for an initial 12-month contract with potential of extension.

- Prompt delivery of financial services to the organization in compliance with relevant legislation.
- Completion of month end processes to deliver management and financial reports.
- Assist with the preparation of Budget Statements and forecasts.
- Maintain organisations financial system, internal controls and financial framework to enable best practice as a Statutory Commonwealth Government agency.
- Provides support to the Chief Financial Officer and Financial Controller in the prompt delivery of high-quality day-to-day accounting services to the organisation ensuring compliance with the PGPA Act, accounting pronouncements and applicable taxation requirements.
- Assists with business planning and the preparation of the annual budget, internal cost centre budgets, quarterly forecasts and allocation of overheads to various functions.
- Assists with the ongoing development of comprehensive financial models and forecasting systems for levy collections and operating and capital expenditure.
- Prepares monthly analysis of actual vs budget, management reports and entries into the central Government reporting system.
- Maintain organisations financial system, internal controls and financial framework, ensuring continuous improvement and accuracy of information to reflect best practice.
- Assists with procurement and contract management.
- Assists with the preparation of annual financial statements, responses to Parliamentary questions and other statutory reports.
- Undertakes research and analysis as required.
- Comply with business policies and processes, including financial, communication, information and human resource practices; the APS Values and Code of Conduct and requests and directions from the Head of Division and the Chief Executive Officer.
- Possession of a tertiary qualification which provides eligibility for membership of a professional accounting body in Australia is essential, and CPA CA status will be highly regarded.
- Demonstrated ability to be proactive and work collaboratively to meet deadlines and achieve corporate results.
- Demonstrated ability to identify key issues and relationships from different sources of information, detecting problems or opportunities, developing alternative courses of action and recommending optimal solutions.
- Willingness to take ownership of assigned tasks and generate ideas for improvement to processes and procedures. Ability to adapt to new situations quickly.
- Sound interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. Ability to express ideas clearly in individual and group situations and build rapport with customers.
- Experience in the Offshore Petroleum Industry.
