The valued client, a large Oil & Gas company are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to join their team in Strathcona, AB on a long term contract basis.
MAIN FUNCTIONS:
• Monitor module shop construction and complete inspection activities to ensure compliance with approved processes, procedures and project specifications
• Ensure that Construction Quality Assurance processes and inspection & testing activities are implemented on the assigned scope of work as defined by OIMS 3-3 processes, the approved Project Quality Plan (PQP), Engineering Work Packages (EWP’s), Construction Execution Plan (CEP), Field Implementation Work Packages (FIWP’s), and Inspection & Test Plans (ITP’s)
• Report quality issues, non-conformances, status, metrics and lessons learned to the Project Team, Construction Management Team, Quality Assurance Coordinators and Quality Lead
• Support development and stewardship of Construction Surveillance programs for fabrication and site construction activities
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Promote Quality awareness throughout the project site
• Ensure establishment and implementation of adequate Construction Quality Assurance (QA) processes, as stipulated in the PQP’s, EWP’s, CEP, FIWP’s, and ITP’s
• Schedule and coordinate inspection activities on site
• Provide oversight of Contractor’s implementation of their processes and procedures during fabrication:
– Monitor performance of key QA staff
– Review and comment on Contractor’s Quality Plan, ITP’s and procedures
– Participate in review of any proposed sub-contractors not on approved supplier lists
– Monitor and audit implementation of Contractor’s Quality Plan and ITP’s
– Ensure Contractor’s plans, procedures, and processes are consistent with contract requirements
– Ensure Contractor’s surveillance activities are commensurate with Criticality Ratings
– Review Contractor’s site quality audit schedule and participate in selected site audits
– Evaluate and monitor implementation of Contractor’s Quality Management System
– Ensure Contractor is performing quality reporting and metrics per the contract
• Identify, investigate and monitor site quality issues and non-conformances, and report to the Project Team and Quality Lead
• Assist Project Team and Construction Management Team with review, tracking and closeout of Requests For Information (RFI’s) from Contractor
• Participate in shop walk-downs, support punch list creation in line with project requirements.
• Review and accept Contractors’ turnover packages on job completion
• Support Quality Lead in the following:
– Development and coordination of Supplier Assessment Schedule and site assessments
– Providing site Quality training as required for site inspection personnel
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
• Formal quality assurance, auditor/assessor and inspection training & certification is preferred
• Minimum of 10 years experience in Engineering, Construction, Fabrication, Commissioning or Start-up activities of various facilities in the Oil and Gas Industry
• Minimum 5 years of experience associated with Quality Management and coordination of quality activities
• Experience working in client role on major production facilities projects is preferred
• Must be proficient in common PC software (MS Word, MS Excel, etc)
• Read, write and speak fluent English with strong management, leadership and communication skills
