Senior Reservoir Engineer
Purpose of Role:
• To provide reservoir engineering support and assurance for all activities in the portfolio of outside operated assets for which they are responsible.
• Influence stakeholders including external partners to maximise value to the client
• Identify and promote learning and new technology that may open opportunities for added value in other client assets, operated and non-operated.
Areas of Responsibility Competence Level:
• Represents Harbour Energy at partnership events both technically and behaviourally
• Collaborate and influence the Operator & Partners to maximise the value to the cleint
• Internal coordination and liaison role with JV partners and cross asset support
• Contribute to Business Plan delivery and asset Influencing Plan
• Provides reservoir engineering assurance of operator well proposals, field development plans, hydrocarbon maturation, support for near field exploration activity
• Maintains active view of asset production/injection and reservoir management practices including well and reservoir reviews
• Provides technical assurance for all assigned field activities, engaging other technical authorities as required
• Provides risk-based assurance of Operator forecasts, developing internal forecasts when required
• Identifies and assesses new infill development and appraisal opportunities including those not recognised by the operator
• Support completion selection and new well start-up.
• Contribute to the internal Reserves and Resource evaluation process for the asset ensuring consistency with Business plan with compliance to Harbour Energy NOV guideline and standard
• Communicates technical work effectively with all stakeholders
• Provides technical peer review for other assets or new ventures as required by functional management
• Any other reasonable duty as per instruction by your manager
• Ensure that all activities are carried out in a safe manner complying with all regulatory requirements, legislation and HSEQ & business procedures
Critical Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
• Educated to at least Degree level in Petroleum Engineering or similar discipline
• Experience in reservoir engineering methods including reservoir simulation, material balance analysis, fluid characterisation, well-test interpretation, well performance analysis and production forecasting including decline curve analysis
• Diverse experience in field development, reserves estimation, production optimisation risk/uncertainty analysis / mitigation strategies
• Possesses excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Self-starter with a strong sense of urgency but also a strong team player who can work closely and productively with other disciplines
• Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
