The valued client, a large Oil & Energy company are seeking an experienced Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Analyst on a long-term contract basis in Calgary, AB.
Position Overview
Reporting to the Supervisor, Environment & Decommissioning this role is responsible for leading the coordination, management and reporting of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions for the Canada Business Unit (CBU).

Position Overview
Reporting to the Supervisor, Environment & Decommissioning this role is responsible for leading the coordination, management and reporting of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions for the Canada Business Unit (CBU).
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with asset GHG forecasting including in year updates to reflect changes in development plans, new technologies, etc.
- Monthly validation and reporting of GHG reductions in SharePoint with coordination between different discipline teams including facilities, operations and asset control.
- Monthly/quarterly GHG reporting including review and resolution of monthly data deficiencies.
- Assist with established OGMP targets including the development of work scopes and cost estimates on an annual basis.
- Provide data and technical support for TIER and other regulatory reporting efforts
- GHG data management and maintenance across various platforms (i.e. Envirosoft Suite and Energy Components)
- Support fugitive emissions programs including traditional surveys and alternative FEMP opportunities.
Qualifications and Key Skills
- A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in the oil and gas industry with an emphasis on carbon management and GHG emissions
- A Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies, Environmental Sciences or equivalent, or a combination of experience and education that provides a similar skill set
- Working knowledge of regulatory emissions reporting in AB, SK, BC and Federal. Experience working within the GHG regulatory frameworks of Alberta Including TIER, Directive 60 and equivalency between the Alberta and Federal Governments.
- Experience quantifying and verifying GHG emissions data and sustainability projects (e.g. life cycle assessments, benchmarking analyses)
- Experience with GHG calculation software such as Envirosoft Suite and Energy Components would be an asset.
- Strong prioritization and organizational skills, must be self-motivated in order to manage workload and prioritize to meet deadlines
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills and proven ability to develop practical and creative solutions.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to share knowledge cross-functionally; comfortable receiving questions about work product and ease with explaining processes and procedures
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, SharePoint, SAP, PowerBI
