• IT/Telecoms construction and commissioning activities, include reviewing and contributing to engineering design through document review but focusing on installation oversight, commissioning, testing and acceptance to handover.
• Ensure safe working environment by utilizing safe work practices by using company tools and processes such as Save a Life, Job Start up and contributes to individual and workforce safety through Hazard ID and elimination or mitigation of hazards.
• Provide support to all projects within on the construction, installation and commissioning of IT/Telecoms systems.
• Participate in IT/Telecom system walkdowns as required and manage punch list item resolution. Work with the sub-contractors to action any require remediation and address inconsistencies
• Create Red Line Mark Up drawings as required to support construction and commissioning activities.
• Participation in planning with Company, Contractor and third parties to ensure smooth IT scope execution.
• Participation in executing the transition of Telecom Systems to TCO Operations.
• Ensures Telecom related documentation requirements are completed for BU acceptance.
• Ensure systems commissioning process is aligned with and incorporates Corporate Compliance requirements.
• Participates in the development and acceptance of IT/Telecoms system check sheets
• Participate in the development of systemization plans
• Participates in engineering document review process.
• Drive for continuous improvement from Construction Contractors deliverables through issue identification, root cause analysis and application of remediation activities.
• Proficient in all relevant company and International IT/Telecom specifications applicable to scope to ensure compliance prior to handover and avoidance of scope deviations.
• Oversee construction activities in Tengiz - including internal cable installation, cable termination in cabinets and outlets, correct labeling and testing - ensuring subcontractors adhere to company standards and specifications and works are of a high standard and consistent across multiple worksites
• Review, and comment on the Telecommunication engineering standards, and exhibits for contracts and POs.
• Mentor staff in Telecommunications systems implementation and commissioning practices and tools.
• Work with the MCP Project Teams on the telecommunication requirements and deliverables and assist with their on-schedule delivery in accordance with project procedure Telecom Responsibility Matrix
• Act as a Company representative at FAT and SAT for technical acceptance as required by IT Leadership
• Travel to locations and/or fabrication sites to provide telecom installation or commissioning support.
• Demonstrated experience in the design, installation, commissioning and handover of IT, Telecoms systems in complex oil and gas processing facilities in a Major Capital Project.
• Proven competence managing engineering contractors.
• Deep knowledge and experience of working on the following Telecommunication systems:
o Communications passive infrastructure, fibre networks (SM & MM), structured cabling systems (Cat 6a).
o Equipment power and cooling requirements
o Network infrastructure
o Radio systems (TETRA, Wide Area Radio – canopy, WiMAX, LTE)
o PAGA,
o Fire & Gas
o Weather and environment systems
o Security, access control and CCTV systems.
o video conferencing and collaboration tools
• Well organised, structured approach to documentation management and task allocation, monitoring and completion.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and manage the following
o Cable specifications, schedules and routing
o Equipment installation details
o System and equipment testing plans
• Good knowledge of materials management systems and tools to ensure minimal supply chain interruptions during construction.
• Excellent team player, ability to contribute to team goals but also able to be responsible for activity oversight and completion.
• Proven experience in leading, working and communicating with a multi-functional team including operations, maintenance and construction.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in Telecommunications
• Demonstrated sustained high performance is required
• Excellent communication and ability to prioritize, negotiate, and execute
• Ability to work with diverse cultures and backgrounds
• Must be willing to travel and work where needed in the project
• Analytical approach to problem solving.
Preferred:
• Experience with site construction and modularization is an advantage.
• Phase 4 experience planning and executing projects in a project engineering or Engineering Management role is desired.
• Working knowledge of CIRS as it applies to telecom system implementation
• Working knowledge of Chevron network architecture and standards
