Contract: Flare and Relief & Process Design Advisor / Kazakhstan

Location: Tengiz 28/28 

Job Specification and requirements:

• Education: Chemical-Engineering degree required; Professional Engineer or equivalent is a bonus

• Must have at least 15 years of process engineering and significant process design experience involving sour oil and gas processing facilities including separation and oil fractionation or stabilization, gas treating and desulfurization.  Mole sieve gas dehydration design experience is highly desired.  Experience with design of distillation columns, heat exchangers, three phase separators, gas compression systems, flare and relief systems is required.  Significant hydraulic analysis and design experience is required.  Detailed knowledge of cryogenic LPG extraction, refrigeration systems, utility air and nitrogen systems, boiler feedwater treatment, steam generation and distribution, and produced water treatment is highly desired.  Has served as lead process engineer on projects with more than one engineer assigned and/or as a Company design representative in a design contractor's office.  Direct experience as a Process Engineer performing process design for a large contractor is highly desired.  Demonstrated capability to handle complex and concurrent projects with multiple facets.

• Experience and ability developing HMBs, Block Flows, PFDs, and PIDs is required.

• Previous supervisory experience of young and seasoned process engineers is required.  Previous international experience desired.

• CSOC Supreme qualification is desired.

• Typical Previous Employers: these would include Engineering Contractors or Oil Companies

• Technical Expertise: be recognized by Industry Peers as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in a key technology such as;

Flow Assurance and Process Design
Use of Process Simulation: -Skilled with process design and process simulations tools, including HYSYS and Pipephase software.  Possesses advanced spreadsheet skills; can create spreadsheets for complex chemical engineering calculations.  Previous experience with multiphase flow modeling and analysis desired, including OLGA.  Detailed hydraulic analysis capabilities are a must.

Skilled with Flarenet, iPRSM, flare and relief calculation. Possesses advanced spreadsheet skills; can create spreadsheets for complex chemical engineering calculations. 

Major, upstream, onshore oil and gas developments

• Communication: Must have demonstrated ability to manage interfaces with Project Engineers, Project Management, Engineering Contractor technical personnel, Base Operations Process Engineers, operations and maintenance personnel and multiple engineering disciplines.  Must have demonstrated meeting facilitation skills.  Previous experience developing project business cases and preparing Decision Support Packages desired.

• Developing Others: Must have demonstrated ability to develop less experienced process engineers, and to provide mentoring and training in Process Design methods and tools.

Experience interacting with operations and maintenance personnel, and multiple engineering disciplines.  Ability to work with and mentor junior national engineers.

• Project Planning - Organizing Strong project management skills, able to set aggressive but realistic schedules; Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple parallel tasks with competing deadlines. Problem Solving - Opportunity Identification Demonstrated ability to apply engineering analysis to problems and identify opportunities for improvement.
