The valued client, a large Oil & Gas company are seeking an experienced Safety and Compliance Coordinator to join their team on a short-term contract basis.

Reporting directly to the Safety Lead the Safety and Compliance Coordinator is responsible to align with the Health & Safety Team Purpose while conducting the following duties:
- Provide mentoring and coaching of the Client’s Safety Observation program.
- Take ownership of the Safety Management System and work with the Business Unit supervision to educate, implement, and use the Safety Management System.
- Complete 52 WSO’s within assigned Business Unit annually
- Complete 20 Safe Work Permit Audits to ensure all conditions identified in Safety Management System, element 15 are applied.
- Comply with the client’s procedures for investigating health and safety incidents to prevent recurrence
- Complete the 9-page incident investigation report on severity level 3 incidents within 21 days
- Complete a facility Inspections as per KPI indicated target.
- Review and provide comments on documents/procedures when requested by the Corporate Safety Advisor.
- Complete 20 Planned Monthly Inspections within Business Unit Operations representatives.
- Maintain the Safety on-call phone as per the Schedule/Safety resource at the EOC.
- Attend operation and service provider safety meetings and be prepared to share information from the safety news and Business Unit safety related communications.
- Review Safety records and statistics. Analyze and identify safety related trends of Service Providers.
- Complete joint WSOs and Planned Monthly Inspections with Shift Team Leads and Business Unit Coordinators.
- Involve Business Unit Coordinators and Shift Team Leads in Facility Inspection process.
- Inform and work/investigate with Process Safety on Tier 3 incidents.
- Assist the Business Unit supervision and Service Providers to complete Incident Investigations
Requirements:
- A minimum of Grade 12 education, as well as a minimum of 5 years’ experience in oil and gas operations.
- Candidates must have knowledge of the applicable Government regulations.
- Strong communication and team skills are a definite asset.
- The successful applicant will be well organized, self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision, and have a strong work ethic.
Notes:
- Canditates must be a Canadian Resident or Citizen to be considered
- This is a fly in and fly out role with camp and flights provided (Calgary or Edmonton)
- Rotation is 4 days on and 3 days off - 10 hour days
