Looking for a Senior Telecoms Engineer to work on one of their key projects in the UAE. Will be working on a flag ship Oil & Gas project. The project which will be for a site in the Middle East aims to boost Gas production on an operational field to meet the increasing demand for Electricity supply.
The position will be on a contract basis for 1 Year with extension possibilities. The schedule will be Mon – Fri. In return the individual will be provided with an attractive rate. Rate is negotiable depending on suitability and experience.

Job dimensions
The position will include the following missions:

• The job holder assists and reports to the Engineering Manager. The job holder is entitled to comply with rules and requirements of Project.
• The job holder brings support in Telecom Engineering
• The job holder may have to liaise, as requested, with Iraq affiliate Engineering Dpt.
• The job holder shall observe strict confidentiality in the performance of his duties.
• The job holder is also accountable for demonstrating individually an exemplary behaviour with regard to HSSE rules & requirements.

The Job holder is in charge to:
The service will include the following missions/Activities:
· Supervision and coordination of Telecom Engineering of EPC Contractors,
· Project and cost management in liaison with other disciplines,
· Technical papers preparation to support management position for clarifications/ decisions with regulatory authorities of host countries, other entities or partners,
· Deviation requests coordination to the project referential, in a timely manner and with due consideration to cost and schedule,
· Participation during key project reviews, plot plan reviews, HAZOP reviews, constructability review and design/model review meetings,
· Review of Telecom documents in accordance with industry standards, codes and Clients specifications such as drawings of Telecom systems & supports, etc,
· Ensure the respect of the technical rules on construction discipline (correct usage of Clients General Specifications  and international norms) in Telecom,
· Ensure all interfaces to other disciplines are clearly defined and correctly engineered,
· Support to possible technical queries and derogations to Project specifications (technical, costs, planning, interfaces, reporting),
· Contribution to the evaluation of engineering, procurement, construction, installation and review/approval of deliverables from the design contractor (Engineering drawings, calculation notes, specifications, procedures...),
· To comply with HSE requirements and to support and enforce the HSE Project objectives and directives,
· To support and implement the Project HSE management system (plans, procedure and specifications).

• Supporting and supervising task delegation to team
• Providing discipline expertise to the business
• Participating and preparing reports for project studies, and other Telecom workshops when required
• Providing sound technical advice and solutions to a diversity of technical problems within the discipline
• Co-ordinating with other disciplines during all stages of design development, construction, pre-commissioning, and start-up
• Providing technical support to site/Affiliate as required
• Producing and reviewing specifications, data sheets, schedules, study reports, and design calculations; ensuring that they
• conform to engineering quality, competence, and project management systems
• Attend CTR meetings and communicate issues with Engineering Manager as required
• Interact with team members in a positive and professional manner at all times

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• In Telecom in oil & gas project/industry specially for onshore fields – 15 years minimum is required.
• In project at all life-cycle stages of project development (Basic and Detailed Engineering, Construction, etc).
• Honours degree in electronic, electrical or communication engineering.
• Chartered Engineer or equivalent.
• Experience (postgraduate) in voice and data communications.
• In depth knowledge of PBX’s (IP) and main communication systems such as Radio, Terrestrial, Satellite and Optical fibre.
• In-depth knowledge of various communication protocols such as TCP/IP, MPLS, VPN’s, IPSec, QoS, TDM and Wireless Technologies.
• Knowledge of the upstream oil and gas industry and an understanding of its working practices relating to telecommunications
• English verbal and written.
