Contract: Advocacy Advisor / Australia

The client a Global Oil and Gas Operator in Perth CBD are currently recruiting for an Advocacy Advisor to join them for an initial 12 months.

The Advocacy Advisor works on government affairs for the organisation within Western Australia. This role reports into the General Manager within the Advocacy Team of 4, which is part of the broader Corporate Affairs team of 21.

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• The role provides an opportunity to work on a range of challenging policy issues and engage with senior government stakeholders
• The role is required to work across the Corporate Affairs team, other functional teams and industry associations to identify issues, policies and regulations which impact on Chevron
• Work with internal stakeholders to develop the organisations position, and develop advocacy strategies to influence political, government, industry and community stakeholders

Skills and Experience required:

• Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
• Strong understanding of the workings of federal and state government
• Excellent analytical and strategy skills
• Experience working in federal or state government; and/or in the resources sector is preferred
• Team player with good experience working in government and an appreciation of the ongoing role of the petroleum sector
